Grey Are Their Hearts

From Matthias Geh

While the mindless are breaking glass, the rich reflecting themselves in bloody diamonds, the poor always need just a little more. A little more compassion, a little more support. There is destruction on every level of society and the vilest parts are the brains of the mighty. But through the scattered glass shards I’m gazing upon an old Goddess.

grey are their hearts
white is their skin
they fear and flee
the dark within
abyssmal force is granting me
mercury boots
to fly
I smile at hearts
in those who part
who really see
who guide and guard
the ones in need

my words are swift
so are my feet
the others come
the ground in leaves
my roots go deep
the company
of love we keep

a warrior soul
my word is fire
when glass is breaking
just aim higher

ignite the vileness
in their hearts
who never take part
one word to find them
one word to bind them
one word to banish them
show them Hel.

ihrer eigenen herzen
während mir
die kraft des abgrundes
merkurstiefel verleiht

ich schenke denen
ein Lächeln
die sich lösen
die wirklich sehen wollen
die jene in not
leiten und beschützen

meine worte sind flink
wie meine füße
die anderen kommen
und gehen wie die blätter
meine wurzeln reichen tief
gemeinsam trinken wir
aus dem strom der liebe

die seele eine kriegers
mein wort ist feuer
wenn glas zerbricht
richte ich es auf
ein höheregelegenes ziel
entzünde die fäulnis
in ihren herzen
die nie anteil nehmen
sondern nur ihren anteil sehen
ein wort sie zu finden
ein wort sie zu binden
ein wort sie zu vertreiben
zeig’s ihnen, Hel!

    1. Exactly. I made it a habit to stroll from the beaten paths and find barren spaces within Leipzig. But sometimes you don’t even have to stroll. Really enjoying the urban gardening movement for their work of bringing nature back into the cities. Thanks for your comment! (I’m sometimes really late with replies, apologies)

    1. Thank you, Lorna! I enjoyed Enchanting the Shadowlands and found it truly inspiring. (it must be in one of the remaining book boxes from my move, there is an empty space next to Your Face is a Forest where it should stand. It just struck me, that I read “you” before. Also thanks for following my blog, by the way! (there was a weird bug, wordpress made it invisible from all search engines (I didn’t set it to private, they wrote me an email with an apology) so now people can find it.
